Therapist Assignment FAQs
-
You may choose to enroll in a DBT Eastside group while seeing an outside therapist, meaning you are opting out of Gold Standard DBT and Phone Coaching. The exception to this is clients experiencing behaviors considered high risk enough to warrant a recommendation of Gold Standard treatment. This will be assessed at intake. We require that your outside therapist fill out and return our referral form. All clients with outside therapists must continue with 1:1 therapy while participating in group. Parents / Affected Others are an exception to this policy.

You may reach out to our intake line to request therapist assignment. Our team will do our best to have you assigned to a therapist within a reasonable period of time.
-
Our Intake Coordinators at DBT Eastside make every effort to match each incoming client with a therapist who they believe will be the best match – in expertise, personality and availability. If, after a few sessions, you determine that it is not a good fit, every effort will be made to accommodate you and find another therapist.

Unfortunately, no. Clients, Parents / Affected Others may get phone coaching only if they are working with or formally consulting 1:1 with a DBT Eastside therapist and attending a DBT Eastside group.
